Woman dies after being hit by car in NSW

A woman has died after being hit by a car in Sydney.

The 28-year-old is believed to have been crossing Parramatta Rd near Flemingington Rd in Homebush when she was hit by a sedan about 7pm on Monday.

Paramedics were unable to revive the woman and she died at the scene.

The 35-year-old male driver, who stopped after the woman was hit, returned a negative breath test but has been taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Parramatta Rd has been closed in both directions while police investigators remain at the scene.
