Fatal crash south of Newcastle

One man is dead and another is in hospital after a collision between a motorcycle and a car south of Newcastle.

The 33-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene of the crash in Catherine Hill Bay, after his bike collided with a car on Saturday afternoon.

The 19-year-old male driver of the car was uninjured.

A second motorcyclist was injured following the initial impact, police said, and was taken to hospital with a possible broken leg and ribs.
