Ex-Catholic brother charged with assault

A former Catholic brother has been charged with sexually assaulting two 12-year-old boys at Sydney schools in the late 80s.

The 52-year-old man allegedly committed the acts at a school he was working at in Hunters Hill in 1987 and at a Campbelltown school in 1989.

Both matters were reported to police in late 2014.

He was arrested on Friday afternoon at Tweed Heads Police Station and charged with four counts of indecently assaulting a person under 16 and six counts of engaging in sexual intercourse with a person under 16.

He was granted conditional bail and will appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on April 13.
