Elderly man humiliated in Sydney robbery

An elderly man punched in the face and robbed in Sydney's west is "humiliated" by the attack, his family says.

The 86-year-old, identified in reports as Frank Carlino, was using a walking stick when robbed in an underground car park at Chester Hill on Wednesday morning.

Two women have been charged over the attack and police are still searching for a man.

It's thought his attackers, a man and a woman, first asked Mr Carlino, who had just withdrawn hundreds of dollars from an ATM, if he needed help getting home.

CCTV footage shows them approaching their frail victim from behind before the man punches him to the ground.

The pair then rummage through his pockets and take cash before walking away, leaving Mr Carlino struggling to get to his feet.

"Humiliated, he's humiliated," a female family member told Network Seven on Thursday.

"That scum could hit someone... not knowing what type of medical conditions he has."

Mr Carlino was taken to hospital with a cut lip and abrasions after two people came to his assistance.

He has since been discharged.

One woman was charged on Wednesday afternoon with robbery in company causing wounding.

A second woman was charged with being an accessory after the fact.

Both were refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court on Thursday.

Police are still looking for the man aged in his mid 30s, described as at least 180 centimetres tall with brown hair.

He was wearing a black jacket, maroon T-shirt, blue jeans and runners.
