Elderly man faces 13 child sex charges

An elderly former owner of a southern Sydney movie theatre has been charged with 13 child sex offences after a strike force investigating alleged historical child abuse was re-activated.

The 75-year-old man was charged at an address in Silverwater on Thursday afternoon over offences which are alleged to have occurred while he operated the movie theatre from 1980 to 2005, .

His alleged victims were aged 11 to 15.

The man is due to appear via video link before Sutherland Local Court on Friday.

He'll face a series of charges including six counts of aggravated indecent assault of a victim under 16.
