Drunk teen's mobility scooter joyride

A teenage girl has been charged after a drunken joyride on a stolen mobility scooter on Sydney's northern beaches.

Police say they stopped a 16-year-old girl who was riding a senior's mobility scooter on the road in Narrabeen on Thursday night.

After undergoing a breath test the girl returned a reading of 0.055 and was taken to Dee Why police station.

Police said the scooter had been stolen from a home and now needs extensive repairs.

The teen will appear before a children's court on October 12 charged with drink driving, trespass and stealing.
