Manly NRL player stood down for DUI

Manly prop Liam Knight has been stood down from the NRL club after allegedly drink driving and hooning at double the speed limit.

The 21-year-old P-plater was charged after he was clocked driving nearly 70km/h over the limit while having a high-range blood alcohol reading on Sydney's northern beaches on Wednesday morning.

He was caught driving 137km/h in a 70km/h zone at 1.15am in Forestville, police said.

Knight's licence was immediately suspended after he returned a 0.176 blood alcohol reading.

He has been charged with high-range drink driving and excessive speeding and will face Manly Local Court on April 20.

"The Sea Eagles reported the incident to the NRL Integrity Unit this morning," the club said in a statement.

"The club will make no further comment until a thorough investigation is completed."
