Drugs thrown from car in Sydney pursuit

A man has been charged after he led police on a pursuit through Sydney's southwest and threw a bag allegedly containing a number of drugs from the car.

The 24-year-old was pulled over by police in his vehicle in Lurnea on Thursday afternoon but sped away into Hoxton Park before throwing a plastic bag - allegedly containing ice, cocaine and ecstasy - from the vehicle.

Police say he then drove into a car park and ran from the vehicle into bushland.

Officers chased him on foot to the M7 Motorway, where he was seen getting into another vehicle.

A number of police units including the dog squad helped to locate the car and the 24-year-old man was arrested.

He's been charged with 'police pursuit - not stop' and three counts of supplying a prohibited drug. He was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday.
