Driver dead after pedestrian hit in NSW

A driver has died and a pedestrian is seriously injured following a crash in Sydney's south.
A man, believed to be aged in his 30s, had been crossing a street in Carlton on Tuesday afternoon when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 50-year-old woman, police say.
The woman was thrown from the car and died at the scene, while the man has been taken to St George Hospital suffering facial and internal injuries.
