A Malaysian-born Sydney doctor who was linked to the overdose deaths of two prostitutes has been deported after spending three years in jail.

Dr Suresh Nair left Australia on Tuesday, The Daily Telegraph reports.

The former cocaine addicted surgeon pleaded guilty to manslaughter and supplying a prohibited drug to 22-year-old Brazilian sex worker Domingues Zaupa, who overdosed on cocaine during an orgy at Nair's Elizabeth Bay apartment in 2009.

He also admitted supplying cocaine to 23-year-old escort Victoria McIntyre, who also died of an overdose at Nair's apartment in 2009.

During the period when Nair was using drugs and engaging in sex sessions up to 14 hours long at Sydney brothels he also botched a number of surgeries

The disgraced surgeon had lived in Australia since he was a child but never obtained citizenship, allowing him to be deported.

Immigration Minister Scott Morrison said "I take very seriously my role in protecting the Australian community from the risk of harm by non-citizens who engage in criminal conduct."
