Court makes interim AVO against Mehajer

A NSW magistrate has issued an interim apprehended violence order against former Auburn deputy mayor Salim Mehajer for the protection of his estranged wife.

The controversial Sydney property developer and his wife, Aysha, didn't appear on Wednesday when the interim AVO application was brought before Sutherland Local Court some two months after a previous order expired.

Magistrate Jaye Carney made the interim AVO against Mehajer after hearing allegations that Aysha Mehajer, who is also known to use her maiden name Learmonth, had been bombarded with emails and felt she was being stalked.
