Call centre employees fundraising on behalf of some of Australia's most-loved charities have been underpaid by $770,000, the Fair Work Commission has found.

MonDial Fundraising Communications, which holds contracts for well-known charities such as the Cancer Council, RSPCA, Oxfam Australia and the Wilderness Society, had unintentionally underpaid the minimum wage and penalty rates for 824 workers from 2010, the Fair Work Commission found.

MonDial has repaid workers more than $300,000 and agreed to repay the full amount by 2017, the commission said in a statement on Thursday.
