Man charged over alleged hit-and-run Cessnock rubbish tip death
A man accused of hitting another man's with a car at a rubbish tip near Newcastle has been charged over his death.
The 54-year-old alleged victim was found critically injured at a waste management facility on Old Maitland Road in Cessnock, about 52km west of Newcastle, on Sunday.
The man died at the scene and homicide detectives launched an investigation.

NSW Police said they searched a home in nearby Lovedale today and seized a Toyota Land Cruiser before a 30-year-old man was arrested and taken to Cessnock Police Station.
Another search was conducted at a home in Aberdare and items were seized before the man was charged with multiple offences including dangerous driving occasioning death and failing to stop after a collision causing death.

The 30-year-old has been refused bail by police and is due to appear at Maitland Local Court tomorrow.
