SEPTEMBER 30, 2014
Belmont mother-of-two Carly McBride, 31, goes missing after last being seen in Muswellbrook where she was visiting her three-year-old daughter at her ex-partner's home.
DECEMBER 2014
The search for Ms McBride turns into a homicide case as police say they believe she may have been murdered.
JANUARY 2015
After extensive searches in the state's Hunter region, police say they believe Ms McBride met with foul play and is dead.
AUGUST 2016
Remains of Ms McBride found on a property near Scone in the Hunter Valley.
SEPTEMBER 2016
Three properties in Muswellbrook and Scone are forensically examined by police with a number of items including firearms, ammunition and prohibited weapons seized.
JUNE 2017
Sayle Kenneth Newson, 39, who was Ms McBride's partner at the time of her death, is charged with murder by police on the NSW Central Coast. Police say another man in Lithgow will also be charged with her murder. A post-mortem revealed Ms McBride died from blunt force trauma.
