Parramatta Road reopened after crash

Parramatta Road has been reopened several hours after a car crash that brought down power lines in Sydney's west.

A man in his 30's was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital with head injuries after his car hit a power pole at Five Dock about 5pm on Saturday.

A Tranport Management Centre spokeswoman said the pole had fallen across part of the highway.

Lanes were closed in both directions for several hours, causing heavy traffic build-up in surrounding streets.

Emergency services worked to clear the fallen lines by 7.45pm.
