Brother of slain underworld figure shot

The brother of slain underworld figure Hamad Assaad is understood to have been shot in Sydney.

A man was shot in the shoulder and arm in in Condell Park in the early hours of Monday, before taking himself to Bankstown Hospital.

AAP understands the man was Tarek Assaad, the brother of gangland figure Hamad, who was gunned down in broad daylight in 2016.

NSW Police have set up a crime scene outside a Condell Park address and are investigating the shooting.

The man remains in hospital in a stable condition.
