Broken bus causes Sydney traffic chaos

A broken down bus is causing peak hour traffic chaos on one of Sydney's busiest arterial roads.

The bus - which was not carrying passengers - is blocking one of two northbound lanes on the Eastern Distributor at Darlinghurst, with traffic banked back about 10km to Mascot.

Motorway crews and a heavy tow truck arrived at the scene shortly before 6pm on Wednesday to clear the incident.
