Savage dog attack in Nowra leaves young boy in serious condition

A two-year-old boy who was attacked by a dog on NSW's South Coast is in a serious condition in hospital with injuries to his chest, back, head and legs.

The boy was bitten a number of times in the front yard of an East Nowra home at about 4pm on Sunday and was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The dog has been secured and police are liaising with local council rangers.
