Three-year-old boy dies after being pulled from Sydney pond

A three-year-old boy has tragically died in hospital after being pulled from a pond at a property in Sydney's north.

Emergency services were called to a home on Chiltern Road at Ingleside at 3pm yesterday following reports the was found in a pond.

It is understood the boy wandered from his home to a neighbouring property before family members realised he was gone and started searching for him.

The boy was found by his father and a nearby member of the public raised the alarm.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and treated him before taking him to Sydney Children's Hospital in Randwick, where he later died.

Police said they have began an investigation into the incident, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
