Boy in hospital with suspected snake bite

An eight-year-old boy has been flown to a Sydney hospital with a suspected snake bite.

The boy was visiting his aunt on Saturday at rural Peats Ridge on the NSW Central Coast when he came into the house with puncture wounds to his left foot.

The type of snake was not immediately identified.

The boy, from nearby Tumbi Umbi, was alert, conscious and in a stable condition when flown by Careflight with his aunt to the Children's Hospital at Westmead.
