Police are still waiting to speak to a woman found bound and gagged in her western Sydney home.

It's believed the 33-year-old, who was found semi-conscious in the kitchen of the Glenmore Park house, was targeted in the attack.

She was found with her hands and feet bound in what police have described as a "traumatic personal experience".

"So far our inquiries have revealed the incident may have occurred sometime between the woman returning home around 4pm (Tuesday) and 2am (Wednesday)," Superintendent Brett McFadden said.

Police are awaiting toxicology results to find out if the woman was drugged.

She remains in a stable condition in hospital.
