Body of missing yachtsman Mal Lennon found near Port Stephens on the NSW mid-north coast

The body of experienced yachtsman Mal Lennon has been found in waters off the NSW mid-north coast after he went missing during recent storms.

The body of a man was discovered floating in the water on Sunday morning by a recreational vessel following a four-day search for Mr Lennon, police say.

He is yet to be formally identified, but police believe the man is the missing sailor, who was at the helm of the yacht Amante when he was struck by a huge wave that knocked him into the water off Broughton Island.
