Berejiklian celebrates Chinese New Year

Gladys Berejiklian was given an enthusiastic welcome as she celebrated the Lunar New Year in Sydney's Chinatown, with people jostling to get a glimpse of NSW's new premier.

Motorists honked impatiently as media and passersby clambered to get a snap of Ms Berejiklian on Monday, as she greeted people ahead of the swearing in of her new cabinet later in the day.

"I'm pleased to have a very close relationship with the Chinese community for many years, and I'm very proud to come here for the first time as the premier," she told reporters.
