Bell allegations to be heard in court

Domestic violence allegations against celebrity accountant and champion sailor Anthony Bell are to be aired in court later this year after a magistrate set a hearing date.

Police last month sought an apprehended violence order against Bell on behalf of his estranged wife, former model and television presenter Kelly Landry.

A magistrate at Downing Centre Local Court decided on Friday that the case would be heard in May - despite efforts by Bell's lawyer to delay the proceedings.

As Bell left court with his elderly mother and sister he told reporters he had faith in the legal system.

"I'm looking forward to the truth coming out in this matter," he said.

Police made the application on Ms Landry's behalf not long after she and Bell were photographed celebrating his December 28 Sydney to Hobart yacht race win.
