Bashed NSW man's condition improves

The condition of a NSW man who was badly injured in a late-night brawl in Sydney's west has improved.

The 41-year-old suffered severe cuts to his face and head during the fight, which police said involved up to 12 men, in Merrylands on Saturday night and the man was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

He was listed as being in a stable condition on Monday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said, while a 22-year-old who was also admitted after the fight was discharged on Sunday.
