Man charged after allegedly pointing gun at Sydney train passengers

A 29-year-old man has been charged after allegedly pointing a gun at people waiting for a train in Sydney.
Mohamad Zreika allegedly pointed a pistol at commuters waiting at Lidcombe railway station, before boarding a train to Bankstown at 5.30pm yesterday.

He was arrested at Bankstown and police found a replica pistol, which they took for forensic examination. He was charged with affray and possessing an unauthorised pistol.
He was taken to hospital for a mental health assessment.
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Local Court 7 today.
