Baker hit during armed robbery in Sydney

A baker has been hit over the head during an armed robbery at his bakery in Sydney's west.

Police say the baker was at work in Colyton at around 1.50am on Tuesday when two men forced their way in and threatened him with a firearm and a knife as they demanded money.

They stole a small amount of cash from the till and as they fled out the back door they hit the baker over the head with a blunt object.

The baker was treated at the scene for a cut to his head.
