Aysha Mehajer re-emerges sans Salim on social media

Salim Mehajer's estranged wife appears to have re-emerged as a single woman on social media.

The rebooted digital life of Aysha Mehajer – nee Learmonth – comes less than a fortnight before the first anniversary of the couple's outrageous "wedding of the century ".

But that event, which featured several helicopters, a fighter jet, and John Hopoate on security, left Mr Mehajer (and apparently his bride too) with headaches that lasted a lot longer than the next morning.

Although the former deputy mayor of Auburn seemed to enjoy dancing the media jig, the spotlight on his business affairs and his personal conduct led to a string of court appearances and public pratfalls.

But matters took an unexpected turn earlier this year when it was revealed that s Mehajer had fled Sydney for the Illawarra, leaving her husband behind.

Reports soon followed that Mr Mehajer had been seen yelling and screaming outside a property in the Wollongong area on the Anzac Day weekend. It then emerged that police had taken out an AVO against Mr Mehajer on his wife's behalf – and in her maiden name.

Although her husband has been at pains to assure the world that their relationship could only be ended "by death", if her new Instagram account is anything to go by, Ms Mehajer seems to think that distance will do the job just as well.

"Live it, love it, learn it," was the platitude @aysha_lea selected for her maiden post.

Mr Mehajer, so far, has been silent on the issue.
