Arson suspected in Sydney house fire

A house has been destroyed by a suspicious fire in Sydney's west.

A man and a woman were helped out of the burning home on Belmore Avenue in Whalan around 3am on Monday and were unhurt.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze but the home was extensively damaged and police have established a crime scene.
