Arrests made in NSW car stealing syndicate

Two alleged players in a NSW car stealing syndicate who stole more than half a million dollars worth of high-end cars have been charged.

Police say the men, aged 20 and 21, were arrested during raids at two western Sydney homes on Wednesday in which several items including a laptop, jewellery, and mobile phones were seized.

Detectives had been investigating the pair over a number of alleged aggravated break and enters in Sydney and the Central Coast where at least 11 high-performance cars, worth more than $680,000, were stolen.

Police say they believe the vehicles were then on-sold and used in other serious offences.

The 20-year-old man was charged with more than 25 offences and refused bail to appear in Mount Druitt Local Court on Thursday.

The 21-year-old was charged with five offences including knowingly dealing in the proceeds of crime, and was refused bail when he appeared in Fairfield Local Court on Wednesday.
