American rock star still in NSW hospital

American rock star Frank lero remains in a stable condition in hospital after a bus hit his band's van in Sydney.

lero and two other men were injured while unloading the van in a bus lane in the CBD on Thursday afternoon, hours before a scheduled Frank lero and the Patience concert which was then cancelled.

Two of them were taken to St Vincent's Hospital with serious injuries and the third was sent to Sydney Hospital in a stable condition.

"Hi friends, thanks all for the well wishes. We're pretty banged up but miraculously alive and in stable condition. I'm still in a state of shock," lero tweeted on Thursday night.

He is better known as the guitarist with alternative US rock band My Chemical Romance.

The group on Friday morning tweeted that: "two members of the [lero] band are undergoing surgery".

"Frank is banged up pretty badly but is physically OK," it said.
