Alleged thieves charged with stealing disabled man’s buggy in Pagewood

Police have arrested and charged two men after a quadriplegic man’s buggy was stolen from Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs last month.

The 23-year-old’s four-seater buggy and trailer were stolen on June 2 from outside a home on Lang Avenue, Pagewood.

Botany Bay police investigating the robbery conducted a search of a Claremount Meadows property, and found the buggy’s trailer at the home. 

Cannabis and several prohibited items, including a sling-shot and paintball gun, were also allegedly uncovered at the property.  

A 29-year-old Claremount Meadows man yesterday handed himself into Mascot Police Station and was charged with multiple counts of motor vehicle stealing. He was also charged with drug and prohibited firearm possession.

Another man, a 27-year old from Cranebrook, was arrested at Mascot Police Station yesterday afternoon.

He has been charged with two counts of motor vehicle stealing, and was due to appear at Waverly Local Court today.

The 29-year-old man will has been granted conditional bail and will appear at Waverly Local Court on August 17.

The stolen buggy remains missing. It is described as a dark grey-coloured 2002 model Polaris RZR XP 4 900.
