A man accused of fleeing a Sydney court after jumping from the dock and assaulting two officers will front court after five days on the run.

Ali Chahine, 33, was on Monday caught at a unit in the inner-city suburb of Alexandria, days after allegedly escaping from Sydney's District Court where he was facing drug supply offences and answering bail breach allegations.

He's expected to appear at Central Local Court on Tuesday via video link, facing several charges including assault, escaping from lawful custody and supplying drugs.
