Accused fraud nurse fronts NSW court

A woman accused of using someone else's identity to get a job as a registered nurse has appeared in a NSW court.

Jennifer Rose-Anne Reed was arrested at her Deniliquin home near the NSW and Victorian border in December after police received a tip-off about her.

They allege the 64-year-old had used the identity and qualifications of a person who works interstate to get work at a nursing home in the area last year.

In reality, they say, she is not registered to practice medicine.

She has been charged with dealing with identity information to commit an indictable offence; and two counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception.

Reed, who has been granted conditional bail, did not enter any pleas when she fronted Deniliquin Local Court for the first time on Monday.

Her matter is due to return to court in February.
