Abuser caught after sending victim's texts

A Sydney man's illicit sexual relationship with a teenage girl was uncovered after he forwarded the victim's explicit texts to her mother, court documents show.

Glen Raymond Wright, 45, pleaded guilty in the Downing Centre District Court to four counts of having sexual intercourse with a child and a charge of procuring a child for sexual activity.

Wright maintained his innocence for two years but entered guilty pleas to a fresh indictment on Monday, on what was to be the first day of his trial.

Court documents show Wright carried on a "boyfriend-girlfriend" relationship with a 14-year-old girl between late 2013 and early 2014, sending her text messages telling her he loved her and arranging for her to join him at a Cronulla motel for sex.

On one occasion he went out drinking with the girl's father and then crawled into the girl's bed in the morning, after her father left for work.

But by April 2014 things began to sour.

"You just like me to shag you because I can't tell anyone," Wright told the girl, according to phone records detailed in an agreed statement of facts.

Days later he texted her again: "I'm done you've made your point you're a slut and I'm stupid for ever loving you and wont (sic) ever make that mistake again."

The girl was interviewed by police, but denied anything untoward had occurred, telling investigators she had a "little crush" on the man.

But Wright then forwarded photo messages she had sent him - one showing her breasts and the other her naked buttocks - to her mother.

Wright added: "Please stop your daughter messaging me and calling me it's not funny anymore ... the pics are disgraceful if you want them I'm happy to send them if it doesn't stop I'll take legal action and trust me if that happens you'll run out of money before I do good luck."

The photos prompted child protection specialists to re-interview the girl last August resulting in Wright being arrested and charged in November 2014.

He will face sentencing proceedings in December.
