Abbott marries himself in Sydney mural
A mural depicting Tony Abbott marrying himself has popped up in Sydney just days before the same-sex marriage postal survey is sent out.
Sydney-based artist Scott Marsh said the Redfern mural was in response to Mr Abbott's advocacy against voting for same-sex marriage, and recent reports of his travel expenditure.
"He seems to be a bit in love with himself," Mr Marsh told AAP on Monday.
Dedicated to completing the mural before the postal survey, Mr Marsh spent two-and-a-half 10-hour days working on it.
Community response had been overwhelmingly positive, he said.
"I think two people had something to say that was negative and they were clearly super homophobic people, but other than that it's been super positive," Mr Marsh said.
