200m litre NSW fuel storage approved

A 200 million-litre fuel storage facility has been approved by the NSW government to be built at Sydney's Port Botany.

The Department of Planning and Environment has approved a proposal by Vopak Terminals Sydney to install seven fuel storage tanks and pipelines which it says will generate $116 million and up to 100 jobs during construction.

The department has put in place strict conditions to try and address community concerns voiced in submissions around stormwater and air quality controls.
