1kg of cocaine found in Sydney car

Police have found a kilogram of cocaine in a luxury car during a raid prompted by the alleged assault of a man in Sydney's south.

The 27-year-old was attacked by a group of men in Arncliffe about 4am on Saturday, police said.

He escaped and met up with a woman. The group then allegedly found the pair and threatened them with a firearm.

A raid on a unit in Ryde on Thursday morning uncovered cash, electronic devices and a luxury 4WD containing 1kg of cocaine.

A 19-year-old man has been charged with numerous assault offences and was refused bail. He was expected to appear at Burwood Local Court on Friday.
