NSW woman stabs former lover in face

A woman has allegedly thrown a pot plant at her ex-boyfriend's car before stabbing him in the face on the NSW north coast.

The woman, 55, is accused of turning up to her former lover's Bowraville home on Saturday, smashing her car into his car and letting the pot plant fly.

Police say the woman then broke into the man's home and allegedly stabbed the man in the face.

The man managed to restrain the woman until police turned up about 6.30pm.

The woman was charged with malicious wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

She will appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court on Sunday.

The victim was treated in hospital for a laceration near his eye.
