Video shows terrifying moment NSW driver deliberately rams another car towards telephone pole

A video has captured a terrifying road rage incident in NSW when a driver appears to deliberately ram his car into another.

The victim, named Stephen, has posted extensively on Twitter about the incident, lashing both the attacker and a supposedly lax police response.

The incident took place near his home in Buff Point on the NSW Central Coast, while he and his wife were driving to pick their children up from school yesterday.

He said he was behind an idling blue sedan at traffic lights and he beeped his horn when they went green.

But shortly afterwards, he noticed the same car behind him and approaching fast.

His wife started filming in time to capture the shocking moment the other driver seems to intentionally slam his car into the side of Stephen's, nearly sending them careering into a telephone pole.

Stephen claimed NSW Police told the couple to pick up their children from school quickly.

The family then left the area after seeing no response from officers.

Stephen said the car was "barely driveable" but the family was able to make it home without being attacked again.

An officer later visited them at home asking why they had left the scene of the attack.

Stephen said the street he and his family lived on was like a "war zone", with cars travelling up to 150km/hr in a 50km/hr zone.
