HOW TO DOWNLOAD IT

Go to the App store for Apple or Android and download the Fires Near Me app.

It's run by the RFS and is updated with the latest information you need to know.

WHAT DOES IT SHOW

A map shows you in real time which fires are burning, and how to decipher them.

The red symbol is for Emergency, yellow is for Watch and Act, and blue for Advice level.

You can create a My Watch Zone, so you'll be alerted when fires threaten your area.

WHAT ELSE DOES IT DO

The App also has information on what to do before a fire hits - including bringing pets inside and closing all windows and doors, and packing a bag.

During the fire, if you haven't evacuated, the advice is to go inside but stay alert and protect yourself from the heat of the fire.

The App will send you notifications if there's a development you need know.
