Police release CCTV in search for diamond ring thief
Police have released CCTV in their latest bid to track down the person who stole an 18-carat diamond ring from a store on Sydney's Northern Beaches last year.
On the morning of October 12, an unidentified man entered a jewellery store inside a shopping centre on Pittwater Road in Brookvale and spoke with a 58-year-old shop assistant.
After asking to inspect some of the items, the man is believed to have snatched a pear-shaped, 18-carat, yellow gold diamond ring from the woman before fleeing the store.

Officers were called to the store to find the shop assistant shaken but uninjured.
A crime scene was established but police failed to locate the person responsible for the theft.
As the investigation continues, police have released a video of a man caught on shopping centre security cameras who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He's described as being of Caucasian appearance, in his late 30s to early 40s, about 180cm tall, and was wearing a beige baseball cap, face mask, red and black long-sleeved checked shirt, dark jeans and grey sneakers at the time.
He has long blond hair, which police say may have been a wig.
