NSW police boss Scipione staying put
NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione has scotched rumours he is planning to step down.
In his first public appearance of the year, Mr Scipione addressed speculation he is intending to hand the reins to his deputy, Nick Kaldas.
He says he'll remain in the job for at least another 12 months.
"I have indicated to government that I'll be sticking around," Mr Scipione told reporters on Tuesday.
Asked if he had been considering leaving, Mr Scipione said: "Look, I considered leaving when I was in my second year of policing ...
"It's not something I've given any significant attention to.
"You know that there's been rumours going since the day I was appointed, I don't turn my mind to that.
"There's more to be done."
Mr Scipione's contract is due to expire in August 2015.
