NSW man charged with assaulting girl

A 28-year-old man has been charged with indecently assaulting a 12-year-old girl in the NSW Illawarra region.

Detectives from Wollongong's Child Abuse Squad were alerted in January that a young girl had been hurt by a man at a property in Mount Warrigal.

After investigations police arrested a 28-year-old Mount Warrigal man on Monday.

He was charged with two counts of indecent assault and one count of common assault.

He was refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday.
