A man has been charged after allegedly head-butting a police officer at a train station in inner Sydney.

Police said the 41-year-old was seen acting offensively on a platform at Central Railway station on Thursday afternoon, and then became verbally aggressive toward nearby officers.

He allegedly tried to resist arrest and head-butted one of the senior constables as they tried to apprehend him.
