Obscene election material targeting homosexuals and transgender people has been referred to the NSW Electoral Commission after flyers were dropped at homes in Southern Sydney.

The “Do Not Vote Labor” material is written in poor English with both Chinese and Arabic translations.

It also depicts cartoons of same sex couples and a man performing a sex act on himself.

“If you do not want your children to learn how to sponke (sic) their monkeys, you do not want the children have 63 genders,” you do not want your children become homosexuality (sic), do not vote Labor,” the flyer reads.

The supposed “warnings” on the flyer have been labelled “offensive” by Labor MPs.

The material was distributed throughout Hurstville and Campsie where there is a high Chinese population.

“Parents across southern Sydney have every right to be worried that their children have been exposed to these filthy images in their letterboxes,” Labor MP for Kogarah Chris Minns said.

“This disgusting material should have parents worried, and I’ve referred it to the electoral commission because it’s illegally distributed.”

The same material was distributed ahead of the 2017 same sex marriage survey.

It is not yet known who is behind the flyers.
