Driver stung over 'dangerously defective' seatbelt held together by tape
A driver has been stung by NSW police highway patrol after he was pulled over and officers realised he had not been wearing a seatbelt.
A closer inspection of the seat belt revealed it to be "dangerously defective", with ripped edges and being held together by silver tape.
The driver was pulled over at Londonderry Road in Richmond, with highway patrol urging the public to "please ensure your seatbelts don't look like this".

Highway patrol had been conducting random testing in the area when the driver was flagged down.
The image, shared with the public by NSW police, shows a severely frayed seatbelt, with a rolled bunch of duct tape holding the belt intact.
"Seatbelts help to save lives, except for this one" police said.
The driver was fined $387 and given three demerit points.
His car was also issued a defect notice.
