NSW constable charged over child rape

A NSW senior constable has been accused of raping a young child.
The male officer, who worked in the Southern Region, was charged yesterday with aggravated sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 10 and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The officer's age has not been disclosed nor whether he has been stood down from duties.
He is scheduled to appear before Goulburn Local Court on June 19.
