This frightening video filmed by a CCTV camera shows just how fast these bushfires can escalate.
The dark sky at a suburban street in Charmhaven in NSW soon becomes alive with embers.

Mr Dallimore holds a hand towel over his face as a mask to protect himself from inhaling smoke.
He uses his free hand to wield a simple garden hose.
Spraying it is his only weapon to save the family home from catching alight.
"It was insane, it just came through like a freight train," Mr Dallimore told 9News.
His partner Leanne, said it was "just hell being unleashed towards us".
Firefighters managed to save all but one home in the town.
