NSW booze buses back after coronavirus break

NSW Police will today announce booze bus stings are coming back.

Fears about the spread of coronavirus saw the NSW Police suspend booze bus operations in mid-March.

Following further easing of various COVID-19 restrictions yesterday, including increasing capacity at pubs and bars, frontline police in NSW have already resumed proactive stationary testing.

Assistant Commissioner Michael Corboy is scheduled to speak this morning, detailing when Random Breath Test (RBT) and Roadside Drug Test (RDT) will return.

RBT and DRT were halted because the use of breathalysers and drug testing kits brought officers within close proximity of thousands of motorists.

Police have warned motorists to expect an increased police presence on NSW over the Queen's Birthday long weekend.
